What matching children’s desk chairs are available from moll?

Healthy and safe sitting at the child’s desk

An adjustable and ergonomic swivel chair accompanies children for years. Just like toys, a swivel chair must be able to withstand a lot and adapt variably to new room requirements. Because just like your child, a children’s desk chair should also be able to develop. The ergonomic moll children’s desk offers your child many development opportunities. At the same time, it forms the basis for efficient and, above all, ergonomic learning. The moll children’s desk is perfectly complemented by the choice of the right children’s swivel chair. Today’s children sit far too much, experts agree. They spend a large part of their school time sitting and then homework is waiting at home. An ergonomic children’s desk chair is only perfect for your child if it can be adjusted in all directions or dimensions, if it adapts to your child’s changing needs and grows with them.

Healthy sitting requires variable changes in sitting posture

Today, sitting rigidly and still are considered yesterday’s paradigms. Instead, it is important to be constantly in motion and to change positions. The chair must adapt fluidly to the natural and intuitive positional changes of the body so that sitting variations find support. It is therefore important that the seat supports natural changes in sitting posture and that an active working posture is supported by sufficient seat tilt (at least -4°). In order to keep the freedom of movement open for the offspring and to promote a healthy posture, moll deliberately does without armrests.

Grows in all directions – the moll children’s desk chair

The first adjustment is that of the correct seat height. This depends in particular on the height of your child, but also on his or her proportions. With our instructions, you can adjust the moll children’s desk chair perfectly for your child. First, select the chair height so that the front edge of the seat is approximately at the height of the lower kneecap point. The seat height is correct when the angle between the thigh and torso is slightly open (greater than 90°) and the feet are flat on the floor, i.e. in full contact with the floor. The next step is to adjust the seat depth. The thighs must rest on a large surface area and the front edge of the seat must not press. The distance between the front edge of the chair and your child’s lower leg should therefore be about as wide as four fingers. In this way, the legs remain well supplied with blood. The third step is to adjust the backrests and their height. This is selected so that the backrest supports the body to just below the shoulder blades. This setting relieves pressure on the back and also ensures that the back area has sufficient support along its entire length when leaning back. It is important that the desk and the chair always form a unit and that ergonomic sitting is ensured.

More safety for your child on the desk chair

Just as important as ergonomics is the safety of a child’s desk chair. It becomes particularly dangerous when a chair can tip over. To eliminate the risk of tipping, try the following test: look down at the chair from above. Can you see the chair’s casters clearly? If yes, then the base is large enough and a safe standing of the chair is guaranteed. The Maximo chair from moll, for example, was awarded the test rating “very good” by Öko-Test because, as a quality product, it meets all the criteria required of a healthy children’s desk chair for doing homework. In addition, it is suitable for children from the age of five as well as for teenagers. Incidentally, all moll children’s chairs grow with the child into adulthood, as the chairs are designed for heights from 1.10 m to 2.00 m.

Children’s rooms are movement rooms

Never ask your child to sit still for long periods of time. Children of elementary school age can sit still and concentrate for a maximum of 10 minutes. Adolescents can sit for about 20-30 minutes. Accept your children’s spontaneous changes of posture: from crouching on the floor to “slouching” on the chair. To bring color into the children’s room, colorful fabric options are available. The upholstery of the scooter is available in solid colors such as green, blue or pink, but also in cool motif fabrics.
